HI
SafetyNet feature is the one which is responsible for the large size of the mail.que in Exchange 2013.Hi Prem,
We are running on CU7.
Hi Rakesh
what is the maximum size it reached. Did you try to reduce the safetynet retention of emails.
Hi Rskesh,
Thank you for your question.
Firstly, Id like to explain, its a known issue that temp folder is large in Exchange 2013.
And the temp folder is used by transport role and holds many temporary files during the course of a mail message. Most of these get overwritten with new ones.
Additionally, if some files haven't been used for long of a period, we can safely remove it:
back the temp files up to avoid unpredictable results and move it off to another location or removable media.
We could update Exchange 2013 to CU 9 to check if the issue persist.
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
Best Regard,
Jim
HI Prem,
Its around 60GB. can i deleted old date temp files from that folder?
Hi
You can delete them by stopping the transport service.
But this will not be a permanent solution
Solution is to increase the space on the existing drive or move this queue folder to a different drive
The default SafetyNet value is just 2 days and this will help you a lot during disasters and if you have more than 2 days then you can think of reducing the values
Hello Rakesh
I would suggest to move them to another location rather than deleting to cope with any uninvited situation.
Hi,
I will move to another location and check any impact. If it is working fine then delete it.
Thanks
Rakesh
